One-time Research Awards: Tracer Studies
for Student Competitions
One Award focuses on the CES/CESEF Student
Paper Contest (17-year history with over 40 participants); the
other on the CES Student Case Competition (10-year history with
over 450 participants). The tracer studies will follow-up with
Case Competition and Paper Contest participants to track their
career paths and explore links between career development and involvement
in the Student Competitions.
Objectives
These one-time Research Awards are intended to increase evaluation
capacity by providing an opportunity for current or recent graduate
students to apply evaluation knowledge and skills in a practical
way.
The tracer studies will be an important contribution
to the overall evaluation of the Student Competitions. This information
will be used in decision making and for further improvements to
these Student Competitions, which in turn will benefit students
involved in future competitions.
A Steering Committee of experienced evaluators
oversees the design and implementation of the tracer studies.
Benefits
The awards provide up to $1500 Canadian to help offset the following:
• Specified research expenses of the student (e.g. documents review and
literature searching);
• Telephone expenses of the student related to research interviews for
the project; and
• Compensation for student’s time.
Download the Review Criteria
The resume of the applicant should be included.
The award competition closed June 11, 2007.
