Educational Assistance Awards
Overview
Educational Assistance Awards facilitate the acquisition and exchange
of program evaluation skills and knowledge by providing funds
for participation in evaluation-related courses or workshops.
Benefits
These Awards provide up to $500 to help offset the following expenses:
•
Transportation by ground or air;
•
Accommodation and meals; and
•
Registration fees.
Objectives
Educational Assistance Awards are intended to increase evaluation
capacity by enabling formal training in evaluation skills, theory
and practice. Enhancing evaluation capacity through training
is one means to ultimately increase the quality of evaluation
practice
in society generally.

Applications
Applicants must send the completed application form to secretariat@evaluation-education.org.
Receipt of applications will be acknowledged.
Review & Decision
Process
Applications are peer-reviewed by a selection panel appointed by
the Board of the CES Educational Fund.
Key criteria include: qualifications
of the applicant in evaluation; goals for the educational activity;
experience of the course or
workshop leader; fit between the proposed training and the applicant’s
experience; and access to other sources of funding. Priority will
be given to those with limited access to funding.
Decisions by the
Board of the CES Educational Fund will take into consideration
the recommendations of the review panel and the availability
of resources. All decisions are final.
Successful applicants will
be required to sign a letter of acceptance.
Reporting
Recipients of the Awards must submit the report form provided
upon completion of the course or workshop. The report covers:
an assessment
of the course or workshop; the extent to which educational goals
were achieved; top three learnings; an explanation of how and
when new knowledge or skills will be applied; and new perspectives
and
contacts developed as a result of the training experience.
